FAAA AGM Gala Dinner 2022

NOTICE is hereby given that the 2022 ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING (AGM) of The Federation of Australian Alumni Associations Hong Kong (FAAA) will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday 15th of October 2022 at Lockhart Room, 2/F, Hong Kong Football Club, 3 Sports Road, Happy Valley, Hong Kong

In line with the Government’s disease prevention and control measures, and to ensure the safety of the public, audience and staff members, we have the following arrangements:

  • The restaurant will require a photo of your RAT test taken in the prior 24 hours with your name, date, and time on it.
  • Temperature checking for each guest will be conducted upon entering the venues. Access will be denied if body temperature reading of the guest is 37.5℃ or above.
  • Except for exempted persons, all visitors are required to use the “LeaveHomeSafe” mobile app to scan the venue QR code.
  • All visitors are required to comply with the requirements of Vaccine Pass to present an electronic version or a paper copy of their COVID-19 vaccination record, or the Exemption Certificate with relevant QR code. The QR Code Verification Scanner mobile app is used to verify and ensure that visitors have complied with the requirement of Vaccine Pass.
  • Visitors who have recovered from COVID-19 can present the appropriate proof of recovery or infection as required by the Government.

Study Australia Virtual Fair 2022

The Australian Government is hosting the Study Australia Virtual Fair on Saturday 28 May 2022.
There will be around 80 Australian universities, foundation program colleges, vocational education
institutions, English test providers and government organisations at the fair to provide information on Australian study options and discuss study plans with prospective students.

The Study Australia Virtual Fair provides Hong Kong and Macau students an opportunity to learn
about various study disciplines, flexible education pathways, scholarship programs, support services for international students, employability and internship opportunities, visas and more. Students and parents can choose to have live consultations with Australian institution representatives through audio or video calls and have their questions answered.

Australian Alumni Speaker Series: Suhanya Raffel – M+ The making of a 21st century museum

Suhanya Raffel was appointed Executive Director of M+ in November 2016. Her curatorial career began in 1984 and she has over 30 years of experience as a museum curator and leader. She was appointed Museum Director, M+, in January 2019.

A cornerstone of the ambitious West Kowloon Cultural District Project, M+ is scheduled for completion in 2020. As Hong Kong’s new museum for visual culture, it will encompass 20th and 21st century art, design, architecture, and moving image from Hong Kong, Asia, and beyond. The museum aims to document the past, inform the present, and contribute to the future of visual culture within an evermore interconnected global landscape.

Prior to joining M+, Suhanya was Deputy Director and Director of Collections at the Art Gallery of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia and Acting Director of the Queensland Art Gallery & Gallery of Modern Art, Brisbane, Australia. She is a Trustee of the Geoffrey Bawa Trust and the Lunuganga Trust, Sri Lanka and a member of the board of the International Committee for Museums and Collections of Modern Art (CIMAM), Barcelona, Spain.

Suhanya is a graduate of the University of Sydney.
